This is what we’ve been looking forward to over the past months. The launch of the first Sincerial customer, fundies.no. This event is also our cue to tell the world what we are doing. Early on in our planning, The phrase “Time to get personal” became our mantra. Those four words indicates what we are doing. We generate a user profile based on user behavior and use this profile to personalize web sites.

We looked around for a suitable target application and found online shopping. Many online stores are too small to have their own personalization system and the bigger ones will also benefit from getting more information about their customers so what we provide is a personalization service that will gather your shopping history from many online stores and use all of it to generate a profile that will help you find products that should be of interest for you in those stores and others.

Naturally, we respect people’s privacy and will only gather information if the user explicitly approves the connection between the online store and our service. If the user later finds that a particular store is not to be trusted, the approval can be revoked. You can always review the information that we have gathered about you by logging into the Sincerial site.

Even if you don’t want us to collect your shopping information, you will benefit from our recommendations at Sincerial-enabled stores because we will tell you what other products people buying the product you are looking at also bought.

The first online store to be connected to the Sincerial system is as mentioned, fundies.no, a Norwegian store focusing mainly on underwear and t-shirts. They are as happy as we are about launching this and they have also given us valuable feedback during development. So if you understand Norwegian, hop over to fundies.no and do some shopping!
